RV Keary

kearyIn the RV Keary project, we recommended a catamaran design which was modified for the employment of multi-beam echo sounders and for it’s unique special operational requirements. For the building of the vessel, we negotiated a contract with the shipyard and executed the building supervision.

The objective was to design and build a purpose built catamaran survey vessel and equip it with state of the art surveying instruments for operations in shallow waters around the coast of Ireland.

This 15m fully equipped and state of the art hydrographic and geophysical vessel is used to deliver survey data that meets all required international survey specifications. The survey equipment includes a multibeam echo sounder for imaging the seabed, GPS navigation, side scan sonar, seabed profiler and an automatic identification system.
