Gillian Kinsella – Accounts Manager
Gillian joined Maritime Management in February 2009 and is responsible for the finance and accounting function within the company. She is Irish and previously worked for over 12 years in the accounts and administration departments in one of Ireland’s largest motor dealership.
Pavel Chubar, Superintendent
Pavel graduated from Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy (St.Petersburg) in 1985 and sailed for the first years with USSR submarine fleet as an officer. Changing to the merchant fleet he sailed, from 1995 as Master. As Master on research ship Bligh he executed the Irish National Seabed Survey which today remains today among the largest marine mapping programmes ever undertaken anywhere in the world. From 2004 he went ashore working as Superintendent and building manager in larger conversion projects in China.
Pavel who has EU passport speaks Russian, English and some German and Spanish.
Gabriel Whitston – Electrical and Electronics Superintendent
Gabriel, qualified as an electrician in 1979 working for H.R. Holfeld, Hydraulic engineers in Dublin,mainly in control and automation. In 1981 he joined the Irish Naval Service as an Electrical Artificerwhere he spent the next 21 years both afloat and ashore in a technical working environment andretiring as Chief Electrical Artificer. He was responsible for all ships electrical /electronic maintenance and specifically trained in Sonar, Gyro and retransmissions systems, ROV operation and maintenance, weapons control systems, Tracklink underwater acoustic tracking and power distribution.
He retired from the Naval Service in 2003 and set up his own business working successfully in the commercial marine sector designing and installing electrical and electronic installations for commercial vessels. These included full specifications for pilot, wind farm crew transfer, fishing and hydrographic vessels. The design took into account on board generators, power distribution, engine management systems, full bridge navigational package and marine radar & radio communications.
He also signed off on numerous Factory, Harbour and Sea acceptance trails and undertook commissioning work. In March 2007, he was invited to design and install a control room for an offshore power generation platform for Ocean Energy Ltd, and managed the build, contractors and offshore operation and maintenance. He collaborated both with academic and commercial interests to bring this venture to a successful completion.
In January 2013 he was contracted by Maritime Management Ltd to install and complete a Kongsberg EM302 Hydrographic installation on an exploration vessel in Turkey. After this very successful venture he has remained with Maritime Management to date.
Garry Davis – Superintendent
Garry has a wide experience as Engineer and Superintendent. He got his First Class Marine Engineers Certificate for Steam and Motor in 1979 and has worked as Chief Engineer on OBOs up to 120,000 tdw and on Seismic Survey ships. He qualified as an engineer surveyor and worked as a surveyor for a number of years with an engineering insurance company.In shore based shipping industry he worked as a Ship Repair Manager in Dubai Dry-docks; followed by Engineering Superintendents’ positions with Acomarit Cyprus and Dublin Shipping Ltd.He has had different managerial roles with Commissioners of Irish Lights from 2000 to 2011, after which he joined Maritime Management.
Garry is a keen sailor and is a qualified Yachtmaster Ocean with a Commercial Endorsement.
Rohan Mac Allister – Safety and Security Superintendent
Rohan started his career at sea with Common Bros. Management of Newcastle On Tyne as a deck cadet. He was working full time at sea until 1998 in various capacities up to and including Master. Since then he has been the proprietor of Mac Allister Marine, involved in Marine Consultancy and Surveying as well as continuing to serve at sea in various vessels as Master on short term contracts. He has also been involved in training merchant navy personnel in various short courses to STCW 95 standards.
Rohan has served with Maritime Management since March 2010, combined with his appointment as Pilot in Dublin Port. He is a member of Department of Transport, Tourism and Marine panel for surveying fishing vessels less than 15 m length overall.
Ivan Balakin – Manager Maritime Crewing
Graduated from Odessa High Marine Academy. He holds the highest level of Qualification – Master degree of navigation. First sailed at sea in 1999. In 2005 holds the Ch officer Ticket. More then 8 years of experience at sea on Reefer, Dry cargo and Container vessels with mixed crews. In 2007 he led the Crewing Agency office in Odessa , Ukraine. Has lots of experience in supplying the ships by experienced and qualified seafarers.

Theresa Byrne – Purchaser and Fleet Support
Theresa is a Business Professional with over 27 years’ experience, and has worked for 3 nationally recognised companies in the UK as Office Junior, Secretary and Customer Services/Sales. Theresa moved to Ireland in 1998 and was employed by 2 Architectural Companies as Personal Assistant/Office Manager as well as Administrator for a Charity before joining Maritime Management
Denis Mc Auliffe – IT Manager
Denis Mc Auliffe is our contracted IT manager since 2006. With over 15 years of experience in the sector, Denis manages and oversees the ICT infrastructure in our offices and on our ships. His wide knowledge on the IT systems ensures the daily running and performance of our network. Denis efficiently identifies and solves technical issues related to the IT department, in addition manages programmes within schedule and budget constraints. He currently holds qualifications with Microsoft & Cisco.
Luisa B. Curry – Office Support
Luisa B. Curry is a Business Professional with over 13 years experience in the Travel & Tourism Industry. She specialised in corporate travel with the German banking sector being one of her largest clients, after which she had different managerial roles in the Hospitality Industry.
Luisa speaks Italian, English, German and some French.
